It's the same in our family, thankfully measures like a pinch, a sprinkle, and all the 'almosts' and a bit more or less 'thans' seem to develop by osmosis from Mom brain to ours.
We were both Blessed with great loving moms who wanted us to carry on their love of cooking among many other unique characteristics they had ..Im sure we inherited a lot of the same loves!
Wonderful you have those memories …my mom too cooked like that.. A-pinch of this ..a little of that ..I learnt to cook like that as well..I kept my mom’s recipe books …I too feel close to my mom whenever I make something she used to make for us . It’s a good feeling ! 🥰
