On a recent road trip my husband and I had a stopover in Sharonville, Ohio. We stayed at a Hyatt just off I-75 which was convenient for a quick morning getaway.
There weren’t many open restaurants on this Monday evening so our choice was limited to a pub and a Mongolian BBQ place. Because we had eaten at a pub the night before we thought we’d take a chance and go to the Mongolian restaurant.
Upon entering the first thing we noticed was a huge buffet off to the side and a lot of empty tables. We were a bit concerned about the empty restaurant but figured we were here so why not give it a try.
This buffet contained a huge choice of protein and vegetables. It was pretty amazing. Once we took a good look at the choices we both opened our minds a bit and thought maybe the meal would be good. At least we were optimistic it would be.
This is my bowl filled to overflowing with protein, vegetables and the noodles. It was almost comical how much food and various sauces I had in the bowl.
I took the bowl to the chef who upsided it on the huge “cooktop” and proceeded to flip, shuffle and move the food around to cook it. It was fascinating watching this. The entire cooking process took maybe 10 minutes.
My bowl after cooking … it’s decreased by half in the cooking BUT the flavours were amazing. I would go again and again if given the chance.
What a great spot and a wonderful meal.
Until the next time.
I've eaten at Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse and loved watching the chef prepare our delicious meals on the cooktop right in front of us! The portions are generous and, as you say, the flavors were amazing. I've eaten at these types of restaurants several times and am always pleased with the quality of the food.
Yes ..I have been to several of this type of restaurant …there was a chain called Mongolian Grill near us in Waterloo and Cambridge but both went out of business I think when Covid hit !! My girls loved this restaurant …it was fun to go to and select each component of your meal …I had forgotten about them ..was a very healthy way to eat …and different …I don’t think there is anything like that around here now , unfortunately …
