What’s in a phrase?
Phrasing, according to the all knowledgeable Oxford Dictionary is “the way in which something is expressed or put into words.”
And according to what I’ve googled “all that and a bag of chips” began in the ‘90’s as a phrase meant to mean “good, plus extra”. That sounds reasonable.
But, and there’s always a but, isn’t there … according to the online slang dictionary it can also be used to express superiority over someone as in (and I quote) “you’re all that, but I’m all that AND a bag of chips.” Oops. Not my intention at all.
Until the next time.
