I’m fortunate to have been able to experience many different types of vacations so far in my life. I’ve walked on beaches, toured cities, cycled country roads, in-line skated pathways and interstates and snorkelled in oceans.
In the summer I had a wonderful week away with my husband where I was able to combine two of my favourite vacation types in one. I was able to walk an amazing beach every day, numerous times I might add, and cycle country roads each day it didn’t rain. We managed to cycle 5 early mornings with distances ranging from 35 kms to 44 kms each time we cycled.
We walked the streets of the quaint beach village, stopping to look in shops, testing some local foods and buying items to either eat there or bring home to savour.
Where were we? We rented a beach house with its own private beach. A wonderful spot in Ontario on one of our Great Lakes. It’s a lovely village boasting some excellent restaurants, fabulous public beaches and friendly people. The name of this particular town isn’t important as there are so many lovely spots along the Great Lakes to choose from. I found this gem of a town by doing a little research.
Here’s a picture of the view of our private beach from our beach house.
Until the next time.
