The other day I ran across something Steve Jobs said that I knew had to be shared. When I read it, it stopped me in my tracks. It made me think, really think about life. I nodded in agreement. I felt good about my personal convictions and it made me smile to know that.
Steve Jobs died a billionaire at 56. His last words …
“… After all, wealth is just life experience I’ve had the opportunity to know. At this moment, as I lay sick in bed reminiscing my entire life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth I achieved are insignificant and lack higher meaning in the face of death…
So, take my advice and be courteous and considerate of others. As we get older, we become smarter and we gradually realize that a $30 watch and a $300 watch show the same time…
Whether we wear $30 or $300 purses, the same amount of money can fit in both…
Whether we drive a $150,000 car or a $30,000 car, the journey and the distance are the same, we always reach the same destination.
Isn’t that the ultimate truth? Seriously … doesn’t that speak to you? Doesn’t it make you stop and think? Doesn’t it make things real?
I’ve always known that things/possessions don’t matter. It doesn’t matter what I drive, whether I wear designer clothes or clothes from a discount store, whether I read used books or brand new books or whether I live in a large or small house. All those things mean nothing, nada, zilch.
As I’ve always said and believe … be kind, be nice, share with others, help others … that’s what life is about, in my opinion. Enough said.
Until the next time.
