When I was a young kid I remember telling my Mom I wished I were a teenager and everything would be so much better, whatever that meant. I had a pretty nice childhood. Her answer to me at the time …
“Life is short. Don’t wish it away.”
When I was in high school and suffering through the usual teenager angst, feeling left out of a group I so desperately wanted to be a part of … I again told my Mom I wished I was older. I got the same reply from her to not wish my life away.
And here I am many years later looking back on my life, which has been wonderful and I’m not done yet, and I realize my Mom was right.
Don’t wish your life away. Instead, go out there and live it. Live it on your terms, doing things you enjoy, being with people you enjoy being with. We only go around once, so make the most of it. That’s what I’m trying to do.
Until the next time.
Well said Christine. Your mom was smart and you are too.
You’re so right! If we had only listened to our parents! Live the moment! 👍🏻😊
