Lots of tidbits floating around in my mind so I thought I’d share some of them.
I’ve noticed lately an influx of wildlife in my neighbourhood and I don’t live in a rural area. I live in suburbia where one would think wildlife wouldn’t exist. Just this morning a couple of bunnies came streaking across our driveway from my neighbours house. They were moving quickly and I wondered what, if anything, was giving chase. We often see coyotes, foxes and wild turkeys strolling down our sidewalk. Not every day but often enough to take notice. Weird.
When grocery shopping I’m seeing some depleted shelves of odd items that I wouldn’t think would be really popular. I’m told it’s a supply chain issue due to Covid. I get that but the other day I noticed a shortage of pine nuts, ice cream cones, corn tortillas and chow mein noodles … these things were always plentiful. Maybe I’m shopping at the wrong store?
When out cycling I often saw a lady collecting beer cans, beer bottles and wine bottles to return for the deposit money. She has bags and bags and bags attached to the handlebars of her bike. So many that I wonder how she manages to ride the bike uphill given the weight she’s hauling. But uphill she goes making it look easy. Ugh.
I love reading books. And when I think on it I realize I’m reading less physical books and many more online. I think it may be because there’s so much more available and yeah it’s easier. I can read late into the night without disturbing my husband. That’s a win.
If you’re on Facebook, I’m sure you’ve seen the 3 minute cooking videos. Lately I’ve been inundated with all these videos of people preparing some pretty gross dishes. It’s annoying.
Until the next time.
