The Cambridge Dictionary states the verb procrastinate is “to keep delaying something that must be done, often because it is unpleasant or boring.”
Of course a definition wouldn’t be complete without The Urban Dictionary. It’s fairly colourful definition of the word is …
What you are doing right now. Get the fuck going and finish your homework.
You. You procrastinate. You are the example.
I don’t procrastinate often. In fact I’m the polar opposite at times. I “precrastinate” which isn’t necessarily a good thing. Precrastination is “rushing to do things early, even when doing so is expected to lead to issues such as reduced efficiency and worse outcomes.” It seems neither procrastination nor precrastination are a good thing.
You ask who are some famous procrastinators? Well I’ll tell you. In no specific order from a website called … solvingprocrastination.com …
J.K. Rowling
Bill Clinton
Mozart
Frank Lloyd Wright
Leonardo da Vinci
Steve Jobs
Dalai Lama
Margaret Atwood
Victor Hugo
Hamlet
So if you procrastinate you’re in good company. And if you precrastinate then you’re also in good company … with me.
Until the next time.
Hahaha...I love this.
I used to habitually run late, but no more! These days I prefer to start well in advance of a deadline and finish with time to spare. I should've saved myself all the stress that goes with waiting until the last minute...definitely not worth it.
Yup save yourself the stress. Apparently precrastinating doesn’t work. Lol.
