Sung by the Bare Naked Ladies the song “If I Had a Million Dollars” is a popular iconic Canadian song. It’s one of their more popular, most likely because it’s lots of fun and cheerful. That’s my opinion … you may think otherwise.
I imagine when people hear it they automatically make a mental list of what they’d buy. And I further imagine the list contains some pretty extravagant items. Things like beach houses, fancy cars, mansions, vacations and jewels.
Do I make a mental list … nope. It’s not because I don’t want a big let down or because I have no imagination. No, not at all. It’s because I don’t desire all those things. I’m happy with where I am and what I have. And I have everything I could possibly want.
Back in the day when I went to a lot of in-line skate races someone once used the phrase “I know where my skates are”. When they used it we were talking about our lives and how we felt about our achievements and our happiness level. That phrase meant this person was very happy where their life journey had taken them and were content to stay there. That’s exactly where I am in my life … I know where my skates are. And they’re in a good place.
How about you?
Until the next time.
I have heard that song many times…and yet never thought what I would want more of …Lol! I’m kinda like you happy and content with what has unfolded in my life …I ve never heard the phrase about “where your skates are “ but understand how one can relate to it ! I’m happy for you …very few people now a days can say they are happy with how their life turned out …this is a wonderful thing about you …a nice interesting topic again! 👍🏻👍🏻🥰
