I’ve always thought that if you enjoy something it doesn’t matter if you’re good or bad at it. All that matters is that you do it as best as you can.
I’m not “the best” at a lot of things but I still do them. I’m not the best or fastest cyclist or in-line skater but come Spring I’m out there enjoying the fresh air, busting my butt and doing one or the other. Trying to stay fit.
I think people sometimes put too much pressure on themselves to be great at things in general. They cause themselves a lot of stress, distress and heartache trying to be recognized as “the best” when maybe they’re not. Not being “the best” is not a bad thing. Not doing something because you aren’t “the best” is not a good thing. Doing the best you can at whatever you do is what it’s all about. Understand?
