What does that even mean? I can look up all sorts of fancy definitions but ultimately I think it means rejection. Yup that’s my take on it … others may have different views.
I’ve not personally been ghosted but did have an experience where I thought I had been. It was a terrible feeling not knowing why a friend was ignoring my messages, wondering whether I should call one more time. Wondering whether I should just wait it out. Wondering what, if anything I did wrong. The wondering and the waiting for contact was both gut wrenching and annoying at the same time.
Personally I think ghosting someone without explanation is mean spirited unless the person you are ghosting is someone who is dangerous to your mental and/or physical well being. If that’s not the case, then I think everyone is entitled to know why contact is being terminated.
Just my opinion.
Until the next time.
I agree; people need to be more genuine with themselves and others. It's not something I was actively taught. We didn't open up and talk in our house. But, it's important to all relationships, even the short term ones. I try to do better now.
I too have had an occasion or two where I was. “Ghosted”….it saddened me terribly as sometimes circumstances are beyond one’s control occur and contribute to the situation which triggered the ghosting ….still after thinking extensively about things …I feel perhaps the friendship wasn’t meant to be somehow and it all wasn’t meant to be perhaps …it’s funny how one can feel about these situations and take it all so much to heart …life can be challenging at times …
