An interesting question, isn’t it. Does everyone have a passion or passions in their life? I’m not talking about passion with their partner or spouse. I’m talking about something that makes them stop and really want to either contribute, create, fix or make better. And they follow through. Does that make sense?
Me, I have things I love doing … cycling, in-line skating, cooking, reading, writing this ramble, and working on the Fill A Purse campaign that helps women in crisis. Are they my passions … maybe. Maybe not. I’ve always believed that if I can’t define something as a passion immediately, then most likely it’s just something I love doing.
So what is my passion? Feeding people in need … particularly homeless people. That’s it. Plain and simple … Help feed people that don’t have the financial means to feed themselves.
Side Note: The Fill A Purse Campaign seems to mess with my belief of immediately knowing if something is a passion. I find the more I work on the campaign the more I believe it is a passion. Who knew?
How did I get to feeding people? It was simply a matter of observation. I saw a young girl, maybe early 20’s, so desperate for food that she crouched down to the ground and started eating diners’ leftover meals that had been placed in a bus pan for disposal. This happened at an outdoor restaurant in downtown Montreal. That’s all it took to open my eyes to the plight of those living without food. And that’s all it took for my husband & I to concentrate our efforts on feeding people.
Do you have a passion? I’d be interested in hearing about it.
Until the next time.
I mean my substack is my passion as I want to expand knowledge about International News to other people who probably are having a hard time understanding it. I think, I'm just like you in that I have a passion helping those in need, last summer, I volunteered at a Seniors centre as a few months ago, I had lost my grandma. When I volunteered there, It was great as it helped reduce the loneliness for both sides as some of them would come up to me and have a short conversation about their lives or share jokes.
